(8/22/2008) There's one week left in the 2008 season, and the South division playoff picture is still a jumbled mess. The Armada sits tied with St. George at 20-15, a half-game back of the first-place Flyers (20-14). Long Beach has been to the GBL championship series two of the last three seasons, and after a 9-1 home stand, the Fleet now has a chance to make the playoffs for the third time in four years.

Hutchins now Armada HR King
(8/12/2008) Norm Hutchins in now the single season record holder for HR with his fifteenth blast in Edmonton yesterday. Eighteen games remain for him to continue adding to this tremendous feat.

All-Stars named
(7/12/2008) Four members of the Armada will represent Long Beach in the first Golden League vs. United League All-Star game. Nick Bierbrodt, Rik Currier, Nick Cavanaugh and Norm Hutchins will make the trip to San Angelo, Texas.

Jerome Williams to Dodgers
(6/23/2008) Long Beach hurler Jerome Williams had his contract purchased by the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday. The big righty is the second member of the Armada to be acquired by a major league team this year.
